The Gospel Message

The wages of sin is death. Eternal separation from God. God deeply desires to save you from this fate and begin an everlasting relationship with you. Not just a spiritual relationship or a feeling, but a literal, face to face relationship you can enjoy forever. The proof of this hope is that Jesus Christ was physically raised from the dead after being punished and killed in our place, taking our sin and all its penalty upon Himself, and giving us a perfect sinless record in exchange. Jesus once asked the Apostle Peter this question: “Who do you say that I am?” Peter correctly stated, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”

The Christian faith hinges on who Jesus is. If Jesus really is the Son of God, if He really lived a sinless life, if He really took our sin and died in our place, if He was really raised from the dead, then we can really have hope that He will do all He promised. He really will resurrect us into eternal life with Him, a gift given not because we deserve it, but because of His love for us. The means by which we receive this gift, this saving grace, is by faith in these promises.

Romans 10:8-9 delivers the Gospel (the “good news”) so beautifully and simply: "This is the message of faith that we proclaim: If you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord", and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved."

The Invitation

Not only does God save us when we believe, but He seals us for the day of redemption by His Holy Spirit! He keeps us from falling away and will present us blameless before the Throne of God with great joy! (Eph 1:13; Jd 1:24) You matter enough to die for, and you are loved! If you have never experienced the love of God, pray this simple prayer with me:

"Jesus, I confess that You are God. Please give me Your Holy Spirit, come into my heart, and save me by Your grace. I believe that You died for my sins and rose from the grave to give me life. Help me to turn from my sins and follow You all the days of my life. I am Yours, In Jesus’ name I pray."

If you prayed this prayer with me, I'd love to know! Send me a message and I'd love to celebrate with you! You have something to be really excited about! You are beginning the greatest relationship of your life!

My Advice

I recommend that you find a good church to be a part of that teaches the things I've just shared, and that the Bible is the Word of God. God gave us the Church to give us strength, encouragement, comfort, relationship, and to help us learn to walk in Jesus' footsteps together. It's not about being a "good Christian." It's about receiving the free gift of eternal life from God Himself! A relationship with Jesus is literally more satisfying than anything the world has to offer. I also encourage you to be baptized to publicly declare your faith in Jesus, symbolic of our old self being buried with Him in the likeness of His death, and our new self being resurrected like He was, to live in a new way. If you have made the decision to follow Christ, have spiritual questions, or just need someone to talk to, please get in touch with me! I want to be a part of what God is doing in your life! God bless you!
